These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the sale of printing products and services by The Copy Boy Pte. Ltd. (“The Copy Boy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) to you, the customer (“you”). By placing an order with us, whether through our website at www.thecopyboy.com, by email, or via WhatsApp, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully. They work alongside our FAQs and Privacy Policy, which form part of these Terms.
1. Orders & Acceptance
- You may place orders directly on our website, or by emailing us your billing details, print-ready artwork, product and quantity required, and final print size.
- An order is only confirmed once full payment has been received and your print-ready artwork has been submitted. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order at our discretion, and to decline or halt any job that is unlawful, infringing, or that we consider inappropriate or offensive.
- You are responsible for ensuring that all order details (product, material, size, quantity, finishing, and delivery information) are correct at the time of ordering.
2. Prices & Payment
- Payment must be made in full before printing commences. Cash on Delivery is not available.
- We accept the following payment methods:
- PayNow to our UEN: 201407791Z
- Bank transfer to our DBS account: #104-900667-0
- Credit / Debit Card (Visa / Mastercard)
- All prices are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are nett. There are no GST charges.
- Our quoted prices are wholesale print rates and are subject to change without notice. The price applicable to your order is the price confirmed at the time of order.
- Prices and quotations are given in good faith. In the event of an obvious pricing error, we are not obliged to fulfil an order at the incorrect price and may cancel it and refund you in full.
- A tax invoice is issued for every order and sent to you by email once payment has been confirmed.
- Payment for the wrong amount: if you overpay, we will credit the full surplus to your account. If you prefer a funds-transfer refund of the surplus instead, an administrative fee of $5 will be deducted from the refund amount.
- Credit terms may be offered to approved corporate clients with regular printing needs, subject to application and our approval.
3. Artwork & Print-Ready Files
- Unless you have purchased a design service, you are responsible for supplying print-ready artwork. Design is not included in our print prices.
- Print-ready artwork must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Resolution: minimum 300 DPI
- Colour mode: CMYK (not RGB)
- Bleed: minimum 3mm on all sides
- Safety margin: keep all critical text and logos at least 3mm inside the trim line
- Preferred file format is a high-resolution PDF with fonts embedded or outlined. We also accept PSD, JPEG, PNG, GIF, and TIFF files.
- A physical or scanned copy of an existing item is not considered print-ready artwork.
- Files are supplied at your own risk. We may decline files or customer-supplied materials that are unsuitable for printing, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of digital files provided by you.
4. Proofing & Approval
- Our prepress team reviews submitted files for obvious issues (such as low resolution, incorrect dimensions, or missing bleed) and will contact you via WhatsApp if a problem is spotted. This review is a courtesy and is not a guarantee that your artwork is error-free.
- A digital proof (PDF mockup) is available on request and is strongly recommended for first-time orders. If colour accuracy is critical to you, tell us early and we can arrange a physical proof. Where a proof is provided, production begins only after you approve it.
- You are responsible for checking and approving your own artwork, including spelling, layout, colours, and dimensions. We print exactly what is approved. We are not liable for errors present in artwork that you have supplied or approved, and amendments after approval may incur an additional charge.
5. Colour Variation
- 100% colour accuracy in CMYK printing is not achievable with current print technology. The colour of the printed product will always differ slightly from your original artwork. Contributing factors include paper stock, humidity, differences between print machines, and monitor calibration / colour settings.
- We ensure colour consistency within the same print batch, but we cannot be held liable for colour variations between jobs printed in different ordering periods.
- Colours shown on a screen may differ from the final printed product due to the difference between RGB (screen) and CMYK (print). Colour reproduction is subject to the limitations of the printing method used.
6. Production Tolerances
- Slight variations are inherent to printing and finishing and are not considered defects. As a guide, the following tolerances apply: finished size up to ±3mm, cutting position up to ±2mm, and fold position up to ±1mm.
- Quantity: for offset and bulk production, delivered quantity may vary by up to ±5% of the ordered quantity. A shortfall within this tolerance is not a valid claim; where we deliver fewer items than ordered beyond this tolerance, our remedy is to make up the shortfall or credit the value of the shortfall.
7. Turnaround & Lead Times
- Lead times differ by product and are indicated on each product’s order form. They begin once full payment and print-ready artwork have been received.
- Lead times are estimates, not guarantees. Given the nature of printing and post-production finishing, we are unable to cancel an order solely because production extends beyond the estimated lead time. Where a job takes materially longer than its stated lead time, a discount of up to 5% of the item value may be extended at our discretion.
- Express & same-day: express printing is available on selected products for an additional surcharge. The express surcharge is non-refundable once production has begun. Express and same-day timelines are conditional on print-ready artwork being received by the applicable cut-off; same-day printing is available only for orders placed before 3:00pm with print-ready artwork, subject to confirmation. Please confirm express availability for your product with us before ordering.
8. Delivery, Collection & Risk
- Delivery: free delivery applies to one address when your order value exceeds $100. Otherwise, delivery is charged at $5 per location for standard items and $20 per location for fragile items (posters, banners, foam boards, and similar). Delivery takes 1–3 working days once prints are ready.
- Orders to multiple addresses are charged separately at the above rates per location. Free delivery covers one address only.
- Change of delivery address: if your order has not yet been dispatched, we can update the address at no charge. Once handed to our courier partner, the address cannot be changed; a re-delivery may be arranged for an additional fee ($5 standard / $20 fragile).
- Self-collection: prints may be collected from 65 Ubi Road 1, #03-69 Oxley Bizhub 1, Singapore 408729, during collection hours 11:00am–12:30pm and 2:00pm–4:00pm, Mondays to Fridays, excluding Public Holidays. We will notify you by email or WhatsApp once your order is ready.
- Risk in the goods passes to you upon collection or upon handover to the courier, as applicable. For delivery damage, photograph the packaging and contents and report it to us immediately so we can investigate with the courier.
9. Uncollected Goods
- All print orders must be collected within one (1) month from the date of our ready-for-collection notification. Uncollected prints will be discarded without further notification, and no refund will be due.
10. Cancellations & Changes
- Before production starts: you may modify the specifications (quantity, finishing, size) or cancel your order for a full refund. Contact us via WhatsApp with your order number as soon as possible.
- After production starts: specifications cannot be changed and the order cannot be cancelled, as materials have been committed and printing is underway.
- Artwork changes are accepted at no charge only while your order has not yet entered production. Once production has started, no changes are possible.
- Custom or personalised orders (for example, rubber stamps with custom text) cannot be cancelled once production has begun.
- No refunds are given for cancellation or changing of delivery options after an order has been processed.
11. Reprints, Returns & Refunds
- We stand by the quality of our printing. If you are not satisfied with your order, contact us within 3 days from the ready-for-collection date (for collection orders) or within 3 working days of receiving your order (for delivery orders), with your order number and clear photographs of the issue.
- Our standard remedy for any issue is a reprint. Where a defect is on our end (for example wrong colour, misalignment, smudging, or incorrect material), we will reprint the affected products at no additional cost. Where the issue is due to an error in customer-submitted or customer-approved artwork (for example low resolution, incorrect text, or wrong colour mode), a reprint may be arranged at a discounted rate.
- For a reprint to occur, you must return the full quantity of the defective goods to us within 7 days. The return is to be arranged and borne by the customer. Reprint lead times are the same as the original order, and no artwork changes are permitted on a reprint.
- Refunds are considered only if a reprint does not resolve the underlying issue. In that event, you must return all prints to us, arranged and borne by you, before any refund is processed. Refund-related payments are only issued once the full quantity has been returned. Returned items will not be accepted where there is no valid reason for return.
- Reorders of previous jobs follow the same lead times and pricing as new orders.
12. Intellectual Property
- You warrant that you own, or are licensed to use, all content in your artwork (including images, logos, fonts, and trademarks), and that your artwork does not infringe any third party’s rights or any applicable law. You agree to indemnify The Copy Boy against any claim, loss, or expense arising from the content of your artwork.
- Production files created by us in the course of fulfilling your order (including imposition and pre-press files) remain our property.
- We keep customer artwork files on record for a reasonable period as a convenience, but we do not guarantee retention. You should keep your own backup copies of all files.
13. Limitation of Liability
- The Copy Boy’s total liability for any order is limited to a maximum of 100% of the order value. We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, business, goodwill, or opportunity, howsoever arising.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Singapore law.
14. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to equipment failure, material shortages, supplier delays, fire, flood, epidemic, industrial action, or acts of government.
15. Data Protection
We collect and process your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We do not sell or license your artwork or personal data to third parties.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and any dispute arising from them or from your order is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page at the time you place your order. Material changes will be posted on this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
