Eyelets or pole pockets?
Eyelets are metal rings pressed into the banner edge, so you can tie it to a fence, a railing or a frame with cable ties or rope. On the form you choose how many and where:
- 2 eyelets on the top, bottom, left or right edge
- 4 eyelets, one in each corner
- 8 eyelets, 4 along the top and 4 along the bottom
- 16 eyelets, 8 along the top and 8 along the bottom
For a long banner, or anywhere windy, go for more eyelets. A banner tied at only four corners catches the wind like a sail and pulls at the corners until they tear.
Pole pockets are sleeves sewn along an edge so a pole or rod slides through. Choose 1 pocket on any edge, or 2 pockets top and bottom or left and right. Hanging banners weighted with a rod at the bottom hang flatter than banners hung from the top only.
Where these banners go
Grand openings, roadshows and void-deck events. Construction hoardings, school fences and shopfronts during renovation. Inside, they also work as stage backdrops and exhibition signage. PVC is waterproof, so a banner can stay up through Singapore’s afternoon storms.
Artwork for large banners
- Set up your file at the final size, or to scale, in CMYK.
- Minimum 150 DPI at final size. For small banners viewed up close, use 300 DPI.
- Add at least 10mm bleed on all sides.
- Keep text and logos away from the edges, where eyelets and pockets will be placed.
- Accepted formats: PDF, AI, PSD, JPG and PNG.
Viewing distance decides how big your text needs to be. A banner on a fence across the road needs letters you can read from 10 metres away, so keep the message short and the type large.
Care and storage
Store banners rolled, never folded. Folded PVC keeps the crease permanently. Keep them dry and out of direct sun between uses to get more life out of the print.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum size or charge?
Very small banners are subject to a minimum charge, which the form adds automatically.
How long does printing take?
4 to 6 working days after artwork is confirmed. See our lead time guide for how working days are counted.
Can I use the banner indoors?
Yes. For indoor displays that need to be moved often, a roll up banner is easier to set up.
