Why silkscreen suits bigger runs

Silkscreen prints ink through a mesh screen. Every colour in your design needs its own screen, and that preparation is shared across the whole order. At 20 pieces a one-colour design is already good value, and the price per piece keeps falling as the quantity goes up. It is a strong choice for team shirts, company uniforms, school and CCA shirts and event crew tees.

Silkscreen works with solid colours. It is not for photos or gradients. If your design needs those, order DTF instead.

Choose a fabric

• Microfiber Mini Eyelet 150gsm: a light knit with small eyelet holes that dries quickly. The pick for sports and outdoor events. It is the only fabric offered as a long-sleeve polo.
• CVC Honeycomb 180gsm: 60% cotton and 40% polyester with a honeycomb texture. A softer polo, in short sleeve.
• Siro Cotton 190gsm: 100% combed cotton, the heaviest of the three. A plain everyday tee in short or long sleeve.

Each order line uses one fabric, one model and one shirt colour. Sizes can be mixed. Shirt colour does not change the price.

Models and colours

• Microfiber: round neck tee (short or long sleeve), polo (short or long sleeve)
• CVC Honeycomb: polo, short sleeve
• Siro Cotton: round neck tee (short or long sleeve)

The colour list depends on the model. The microfiber round neck tee has 22 colours including five neon shades, and the long-sleeve polo has 9. You pick from the exact list on the order form. Areas of your artwork that match the shirt colour are left unprinted.

Print sides, sizes and colours

Print on the front, the back or both. Each side has its own print size and its own colours, and is priced separately.

Each side takes up to 3 colours. There is no sleeve printing on this product. For a chest logo, choose Front with 3 x 3in or 5 x 5in. 5 x 5in and 3 x 3in cost the same, so pick whichever suits the design.

Emboss and velvet

Two optional effects can replace a plain colour on any side.

• Emboss: a raised print that you can feel with your fingers.
• Velvet: a soft, textured flocked finish.

Each effect counts as one of the 3 colours on that side. The order form offers these combinations: 1, 2 or 3 plain colours, emboss with 1 or 2 colours, velvet with 1 or 2 colours, and emboss plus velvet with 1 colour. Effects need their own artwork pages in your PDF.

How pricing works

The price per piece is the blank shirt plus the print on each side. It drops as your total quantity goes up. The brackets are 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 74, 75 to 99, 100 to 149, 150 to 199, 200 to 299, 300 to 399 and 400 to 500 pieces. Sizes 4XL to 7XL cost more per piece than 2XS to 3XL because they use more fabric. More colours and bigger prints add to the print charge. Prices are in Singapore dollars with no GST added.

Each figure is per piece. Twenty pieces with a Front A4 one-colour print comes to S$220.00 in total. The order form is the final price.

Silkscreen or DTF?

Both print on the same shirts. The choice comes down to quantity and artwork.

Silkscreen gets cheaper per piece as quantity and print size grow, and it is usually the better price for large one or two colour prints at 20 pieces or more. For small prints or designs with several colours, DTF is often the cheaper option, even at 100 pieces or more. Compare both order forms with your own design. For photos, gradients, kids sizes or sleeve prints, use DTF printing.

How to order

1. Choose a fabric and model.
2. Choose the shirt colour.
3. Choose a print size for the front, the back or both, then the colours or effects for each side.
4. Add the ink colours, for example white or a Pantone code, in the optional box.
5. Enter the quantity for each size. The total must be 20 to 500.
6. Upload your artwork PDF, or paste a download link, then add to cart.

Need another model or shirt colour? Add it to the cart as its own line. Each line needs at least 20 pieces and is priced on its own quantity.

Artwork guide

Upload one PDF per order line. Page 1 is a placement mock-up: the shirt, which sides are printed and how big each print is. After that, give each side its own page. Emboss and velvet artwork goes on separate pages of their own.

• Vector artwork is preferred
• Use solid spot colours only, with no gradients or photos
• Minimum text size is 10pt
• Minimum line thickness is 1pt
• Name the ink colour for each print in the order form, for example white or a Pantone code

If you order several lines, upload the same PDF on each one.

Size charts

Measurements are in inches and are taken flat. Chest is measured across the shirt, so double it for the round measurement.

Turnaround

10 to 12 working days from artwork confirmation. This product has no express option. Weekends and public holidays are not counted, and our lead time guide explains how the days are worked out. Collect from us at Ubi or choose delivery at checkout.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order?

20 pieces per order line. The maximum is 500 pieces per line.

Can I mix sizes and colours?

Sizes can be mixed on one line, from 2XS to 7XL. Each line has one model and one shirt colour. For another colour, add a new line of at least 20 pieces.

Can I print a photo or a gradient?

No. Silkscreen uses solid colours. For full-colour artwork, use our DTF t-shirt printing.

Do you print kids sizes or sleeves?

Not on this product. Silkscreen here is for adult sizes and for front and back prints. Kids sizes and sleeve prints are on the DTF page.

What are emboss and velvet?

Emboss is a raised print. Velvet is a soft, textured flocked finish. Each counts as one of your 3 colours on that side.

Can I get the order faster?

No. This product runs on 10 to 12 working days and has no express option.

How should I wash a printed shirt?

Turn it inside out and wash it in cold water. Avoid high heat in the dryer and do not iron directly on the print.
