A soft touch velvet lamination gives your business card a smooth, suede-like matte finish that people notice the moment they hold it. The surface feels more like fabric than paper. Compared with standard matt or gloss cards, a soft touch laminated name card reads as more expensive, which is why so many people reach for it when they want the card itself to do some of the talking.
We apply the soft touch laminate film over the printed card. It creates a velvety texture with a subtle matte look, and it also shields the card against scuffs and fingerprints, so it stays looking sharp longer.
How it differs from standard matte
Standard matte lamination gives a flat, smooth finish. Soft touch goes further: it has a tactile, almost powdery texture you feel straight away. Drop a velvet card into a stack collected at a networking event and it’s usually the one people pick up to handle again.
Card Stock Options
- 310 GSM Soft Touch Lamination (Velvet) — our standard option. A solid weight with the velvety matte finish on both sides. Professional and understated.
- 310 GSM Soft Touch + Spot UV (1-Side) — velvet base with selective glossy UV highlights on one side. The matte velvet against the raised gloss gives a contrast you can see and feel. Good for making a logo or text pop.
- 310 GSM Soft Touch + Spot UV (2-Side) — spot UV highlights applied to both sides.
- 360 GSM Soft Touch Lamination (Velvet) — a thicker, heavier stock. Noticeably sturdier than 310 GSM, same velvet finish.
- 360 GSM Soft Touch + Spot UV (1-Side) — thick velvet card with glossy highlights on one side.
- 360 GSM Soft Touch + Spot UV (2-Side) — thick card, velvet lamination, spot UV on both sides.
The Spot UV + Soft Touch Combination
Spot UV over soft touch is one of the most asked-for premium finishes in business card printing. The matte velvet absorbs light while the spot UV areas reflect it, so the contrast is both visual and tactile. Use it on a logo, a company name, a border, or any design element you want to lift. Note that it needs a separate artwork layer to mark which areas get the UV treatment.

Print Method
Offset lithographic printing in CMYK. We apply the soft touch lamination after printing, bonding the velvet film to both sides so the feel is consistent front and back.
Artwork Requirements
- File Format: PDF, AI, PSD, JPG, PNG

- Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI
- Bleed: 3 mm on all sides
- For AI files: all text must be outlined and images embedded
- For Spot UV: provide a separate black artwork layer indicating which areas should receive the glossy UV treatment
