Translucent Business Card Printing / Frosted Plastic Name Card Singapore — Waterproof
These are frosted translucent business cards, printed on 280 GSM UV frosted plastic. The material is 100% waterproof and tear-resistant, so the card holds up where a paper one wouldn’t. The semi-transparent finish gives it a clean, modern look that reads very differently from a standard paper name card.
The frosted finish is smooth and semi-opaque. Areas without ink come out as a soft frosted white, and your design and colours show through the plastic.
Why frosted plastic over paper
Paper cards warp and tear. These don’t get damaged by water, coffee spills, sweat or rain, and they last a lot longer. Good for anyone working in wet or outdoor conditions, or anyone who just wants a card people hang on to.

Colour & Print Options
- CMYK — standard full-colour printing on frosted plastic. Areas without ink stay frosted and semi-transparent.
- CMYK + Full White Backing — a solid white layer is printed behind your whole design. Colours come out more vivid and opaque. The card loses its translucent effect but the colour reproduction is bolder.
- CMYK + Spot White Backing — white ink goes behind only the areas you choose. You keep the frosted translucent look in some spots while getting solid, strong colour in others.
The white ink choice matters a lot on translucent cards. With no white backing, colours printed straight onto frosted plastic look lighter and semi-transparent. If your design has dark colours or photos, go with full or spot white backing.

Artwork Requirements
- File Format: PDF, AI, PSD, JPG, PNG

- Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI
- For AI files: all text must be outlined and images embedded
- If using Spot White Backing: provide a separate artwork layer indicating which areas require white ink behind them
- Note: Printing is on one side only — because the material is translucent, printing both sides would make the artwork overlap and become unreadable

Design Tips for Translucent Cards
- Keep the layout clean and uncluttered — the frosted material itself is part of the design
- Use bold, high-contrast colours and readable fonts for best visibility
- Avoid small or thin text, as it can be harder to read on a semi-transparent surface
- Consider leaving some areas without ink to show off the frosted translucent effect
- If your logo has fine detail, use white backing behind it for clarity
